Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored securely using industry-standard encryption via AWS Cognito).
Article Data
When you save articles, we collect and store:
- URLs of articles you save
- Article titles and descriptions (extracted automatically)
- Tags you assign to articles
- Screenshots of saved pages (for visual thumbnails)
- Reading status (unread, read, archived)
- Favorite status
Chrome Extension Data
Our Chrome extension accesses only the URL and title of the current page when you explicitly click to save an article. The extension does not track your browsing history or access any data without your action.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the PickPoc service
- Authenticate your account and keep it secure
- Store and organize your saved articles
- Generate visual thumbnails for your articles
- Enable search and filtering of your article library
- Process subscription payments (via Stripe)
- Send important service updates (no marketing emails)
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure:
- Authentication: AWS Cognito with encrypted password storage
- Article Data: AWS DynamoDB with encryption at rest
- Screenshots: AWS S3 with server-side encryption
- API: AWS AppSync with HTTPS encryption in transit
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud infrastructure and data storage
- Stripe: Payment processing for Pro subscriptions
These services have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data. We do not sell your personal information to any third parties.
Data Retention
We retain your account and article data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.
